Research in Missouri Census Records

Statewide Records that exist for Missouri are 1800 - 1810 - (missing), 1820 (missing), 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1890 (fragment, see below), 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940. There are Industry and Agriculture Schedules 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. Slave Schedules exist for 1850 & 1860. The Mortality Schedules for the years 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. Missouri took territorial censuses during in 1814, 1817, and 1819. There are listings of heads of families of New Madrid for 1797 and 1803. Heads of families were enumerated for St. Charles in 1817 and 1819 only.

  • 1810 & 1820: lost for all districts.
  • State Censuses: most of the individual schedules are lost.
